Hey Harb, I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out what to write in the letter from the publishers. What do you usually write in a publishers’ letter?

Well, Pattee, the publishers’ letter usually introduces the magazine, the mission and the content. Most importantly, it tells the readers what they can expect as they turn the pages.

Pattee
Eww. “Well Pattee.” Why am I one of your students? You sound like Mr. Rogers.

Harby
Welcome to the neighborhood!

Pattee
Okay, so we want to tell people that our mission is about serving the community?

Harby
Exactly. We’re a business people magazine. It’s more human. And inspiring. And inclusive. We do what we do because we believe we can make a difference. We entertain, educate and inspire. We want to help businesses up and down the I-270 corridor learn from each other. We discuss philosophies, motivations, challenges, strategies and successes. How ’bout that?

Pattee
Uh, yeah. You have obviously done this before. ;-)

Harby
Once or twice.

Pattee
I think the magazine really lends itself to elevating the standard by which we do business, and moves us in the direction of bridging the gap between Frederick and Montgomery counties.

Harby
Absolutely. It’s time someone recognized that these two counties are one economic region financially reliant upon each other.

Pattee
I know. And it’s important to point out that most of the people who contributed to this magazine are business people like you and me. In this issue, our readers will get to read about PATH, they’ll learn about how businesses that do business with nonprofits, profit (oh, say that three times fast), and, of course they get to learn more about social media from our social media summit.

Harby
What’s brb mean? Excuse you?

Pattee
Be right back. Didn’t you learn anything in our social media summit?

A special thank you to our official advisors. Please know, if you aren’t on this list, we really appreciate all your help and we need to get you on our ‘official’ advisors list.
